US Permanent Representative At NATO: “The World In Ukraine Has Become Closer Than Ever”

The US Permanent Representative to Matthew Wizel emphasized the importance of peaceful negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, which will be held in Istanbul, saying that the end of the war in Ukraine has become “closer than ever.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin in his recent statement suggested renewing peace negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul on May 15. He said that he would turn to Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with a request to provide a platform for these negotiations.

In turn, US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that a positive result may come out of Istanbul negotiations. He noted: “I don’t know where I will be at that moment. Perhaps I will be somewhere in the Middle East, but if I think that it will be useful, I can fly to Istanbul.”
