US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink wrote on Twitter that Washington will provide Kyiv $ 7.5 billion directly from the US budget, BBC reports.
“I look forward to cooperation with Denis Shmygal [Prime Minister of Ukraine] to help Ukraine protect itself from Russian aggression and support the stability of Ukraine and its restoration. It is not yet clear whether the Brink implies a new financial tranche from Washington.
In May, the US Senate has already approved an unprecedented in size Packet for Assistance to Ukraine in the amount of almost $ 40 billion. A significant part of these funds should go to defense assistance to Ukraine. But almost 9 billion dollars of them was intended for economic assistance to Kyiv.
Today, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said that the country’s GDP for the first “military” quarter of 2022 fell by 15.1%, when compared with the same period last year.
