The US Southern Field Command (SOUTHCOM) reported a strike on a ship suspected of transporting drugs in the Eastern Pacific. The attack killed three people.
A video recording of the moment the ship was hit was published on the SOUTHCOM page on the social network of the American company X.
The message indicates that the operation was carried out on the direct orders of US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. It is alleged that the boat acted in the interests of an organization that Washington classifies as terrorist.
The strike, according to the command, was carried out in international waters.
Trump’s Decree
Previously, US President Donald Trump signed a decree that ordered a more active and effective use of the army to fight drug cartels of Latin American origin directly on their territory.
In this context, the United States at the end of August sent to the area off the coast Venezuela has submarines and warships, and U.S. Defense Secretary Hegseth said the U.S. Army is prepared to conduct operations in Venezuela, including regime change.
Recent U.S. Army attacks on some boats in the Caribbean and Pacific that were allegedly involved in drug smuggling, directly targeting people on board, are sparking debate in the international community about “extrajudicial killings.”
