The United States strives to conclude an agreement with Iran, which will not allow Tehran to enrich Uranus. This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. However, the Secretary of State emphasized that it will not be easy to achieve such an agreement.
Speaking at a meeting of the Senate budget commission for international affairs, Rubio answered questions from senators concerning Iran.
He said that US President Donald Trump offered Tehran a “way out of the situation” and noted that if Iran accepts this proposal, he would become more prosperous than now.
The head of the State Department emphasized that negotiations with Iran are ongoing, the priority for the United States is the prevention of Tiegran to enrich the Uranus.
“If one day you get the opportunity to enrich Uranus, then turning it into a weapon is no longer so difficult,” Rubio said, adding that the United States cannot allow Iran to acquire such technologies.
He noted that the use of nuclear energy for peaceful and civilian purposes is understandable and widely used by many countries, but Iran, according to him, persistently achieves the right to enrich the uranium.
“to conclude (nuclear) agreement with Iran will not be easy, but this is what we are now working on,” Rubio said.
The Secretary of State also emphasized that before reaching an agreement with Iran, all current sanctions against this country will remain in force.
