US spent in Doha negotiations with Taliban

American delegation led by the Special Representative of the United States in Afghanistan Tom West held two-day negotiations with representatives of the Taliban Movement, Interfax reports with reference to the press secretary of the Taliban Foreign Ministry Abdul Kahar Balkha.

It is reported that the delegation of Taliban was headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mavlava Amirkhan Muttaki.

“Both delegations discussed political, economic, humanitarian issues, health issues, education and security. The Afghan delegation assured the United States to ensure security and asked to unconditionally release the frozen money of Afghanistan, cancel black lists and sanctions,” the report says.

“Sanctions should be discontinued, and humanitarian issues must be separated from politics,” said Muttaki.

“Separate meetings were also held between professional and technical groups of two delegations to achieve better progress on issues. In general, the meetings were positive, and the parties agreed to continue holding such meetings in the future,” the representative of the Taliban Foreign Ministry added.
