US tested air defense on basis of Israeli “Iron Dome”

Units of the United States Marine Corps conducted successful tests of the prototype of the air defense system (air defense) on the basis of the Israeli Iron Dome, TASS reports with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the Jewish state.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the tests of the promising air defense system of the average radius of action took place at the White Sands training ground in the state of New Mexico. In the course of them, several training targets in the form of cruise missiles launched simultaneously in different directions and along different trajectories were affected. The department also noted that the test system of Mric (Medium-Range Intercept Capability, medium-range defeat) combines the components of the production of the United States and Israel. These are American radar stations for terrestrial air targets G/ATOR and CAC2S combat control systems and Israeli Tamir missiles from the Iron Dome system.

According to the results of the tests, the head of the Israeli missile defense organization under the country’s Ministry of Defense, Moshe Patel, said that this test proved that the Tamir missile-interceptor from the Iron Dome and the ground components associated with it can be quickly and effectively integrated into any defense architecture and successfully intercept various air threats in difficult conditions.
