USA And Ukraine Signed An Agreement On Rare -earth Metals

Kyiv and Washington signed an agreement on the joint mining of minerals and the creation of an investment fund for the restoration of Ukraine.

The signing of the transaction was confirmed by the US Department of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.

“Thanks to the relentless efforts of President Trump to ensure a durable world, I am glad to report on the signing of a historical agreement on economic partnership between the United States and Ukraine, according to which the American -Ukrainian Investment Fund for Reconstruction is established,” said the US Minister of Finance Scott Immotrot.

“Together with the Minister of Finance of the United States Scott Bessant, she signed an agreement on the creation of an investment fund for the restoration of US-Ukraine,” wrote Avitsa-Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko on Facebook.

According to her, the investment fund for the restoration of Ukraine will attract global investments in our state.

Sviridenko said that the key provisions provide that full property and control remain with Ukraine – the Ukrainian state determines where and what to extract, Osra remains in Ukrainian property.

In addition, the equal partnership of the United States and Ukraine – the Fund is created 50/50, and not one of the parties will have a predominant voice.

The signed agreement does not provide for changes in privatization processes or management of state companies. Companies such as Ukrnaft or Energoatom remain owned by the state.

There are no references to any debt obligations of Ukraine to the United States in the signed agreement. It is noted that the implementation of the agreement will allow both countries to increase their economic potential due to equal cooperation and investment.

It is emphasized that the agreement complies with the constitution and does not change the European integration course of Ukraine.

April 18, Kyiv and Washington signed a memorandum of intention to conclude a resource transaction – in it they agreed to speed up work on the agreement. The one-page document emphasized that since the beginning of full-scale hostilities in Ukraine in 2022, Washington provided Kyiv “significant financial and material support”, that the parties wish for a solid world in Ukraine and strengthened the Ukrainian-Ukrainian partnership and that, within the framework of this partnership, they intend to create an investment fund of the reconstruction (reconstructions Fund).
