US authorities call on Serbia to look for alternatives to the Russian gas and, according to Washington, seeks progress in this direction, said US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia Gabriel Escobar.
“As for energy security, we called for Serbia to consider alternatives to the Russian gas, including renewable energy sources and liquefied natural gas. We have achieved some progress in this,” TASS quotes the American official.
“Question of dependence on Russian energy resources is a problem not only by Western Balkans, this is a problem for a large part of Europe … We are close to the liberation of some countries from a complete dependence on Russian gas … In this process there are huge opportunities for American companies “,” Escobar noted.
