Recently, the Republican Drug Center of the Ministry of Health has received more requests in connection with polydrug addiction, that is, the simultaneous intake of two or more synthetic, semi-synthetic and natural drugs. Head of department of the center Parvin Mammadov told reporters about it.
According to him, patients not only undergo drug treatment, but also receive psychological assistance as part of individual and group therapy.
The specialist noted that the combined use of the synthetic psychoactive substance methamphetamine from the group of psychostimulants and opiates causes acute disorders in the nervous system of the addict.
It was also noted that 33 788 people who use drugs are currently registered in the drug center. Among them, 618 are women.
