Ushakov recalled that “at the beginning it was asslated to make the following contacts in the context of normalizing relations in Moscow, but then the Americans suggested taking a break”.
“Now, obviously, between, respectively, the State Department and the Foreign Ministry will have some kind of arrangement, where and when to hold the next meeting. So far, the question was somewhat imposed,” he said.
On the eve of the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the next round of consultations between Russia and the United States to eliminate the “stimuli” in relations between the countries was canceled on the initiative of the American side. “We hope that the pause they took will not be too long,” she said.
St. Petersburg International Economic Forum
Ushakov also shared information and the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (PMEF), which will be held from June 18 to 21 in St. Petersburg.
“This year, the forum unites a large Russian and international audience on its site. According to him, the kingdom of Bahrain will receive the status of a country – guest of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
“Bahrain sends a very representative delegation to St. Petersburg – about 80 people. The delegation of King Bahrain will be headed. He is a representative of the king in humanitarian activities and youth affairs, also wears an important title of national security adviser and is the commander of the Royal Guard,” said Ushakov.
He indicated that “in total, statesmen and politicians from about 50 countries of the world will come to St. Petersburg.”
