Uzbekistan And Sweden Signed An Agreement On Cooperation In Field Of Labor Migration

Uzbekistan and Sweden signed a declaration of cooperation in the field of migration policy, providing for an organized set of labor migrants from Uzbekistan to work in Sweden. This was reported by the press service of the agency for external labor migration of Uzbekistan.

The relevant document was signed during negotiations between the director of the agency Behzod Musaev and the Minister for Migration of Sweden Johan Forsel.

The parties discussed the prospects for establishing an orderly and transparent system of organized migration aimed at preventing illegal employment and protecting migrant rights.

Particular attention was paid to consular support and information exchange between the departments of the two countries.

According to the Swedish side, in connection with demographic changes, the country is faced with an acute shortage of qualified personnel in the fields of transport, construction, industry, medicine, education and social services. In this regard, Uzbekistan is considered as a priority partner for the training and direction of specialists.

It is reported that as part of the agreements it is planned to launch pilot programs for the preparation of Uzbek citizens to work in Sweden in sectors such as construction, logistics and healthcare.

In addition, the creation of a centralized digital platform is discussed, which will simplify the interaction of employers and applicants, ensuring the transparency of the process.

The Minister of Migration of Sweden Johan Forssel described the signed declaration as a “historical document”, noting its important role in strengthening bilateral partnerships in the field of migration.
