Samark Festival Challenge Samarkand is being held in Samarkand on September 16. This is a triathlon race that became part of Challenge Family.
Challenge Family is one of the famous international sports competitions, namely, triathlon races at various distances that take place in 30 countries. In total, the Challenge Family racing counts more than 50 thousand participants annually.
According to the Uzbek media, the swimming stage of the Challenge Samarkand competition will be held on a rowing channel from a swim of 1.9 kilometers.
A cylinder at a distance of 86 kilometers will begin in the tourist complex “Silk Road Samarkand” and will consist of two circles. Athletes cross the monument to Amir Temur, the Registan ensemble, the Bibi Khanum monument, the Afrosiab market, and then pass along the streets of modern Samarkand.
The running stage will be held on the territory of the tourist complex “Silk Road Samarkand”, where the athletes will have to run 21.5 kilometers.
The festival will also host the Uzbekistan championship for triathlon for professionals.
More than 2000 athletes will take part in the event, most of which arrived from abroad.
