Uzbekistan, together with Chinese partners, plans to produce up to 300 thousand electric and hybrid cars annually.
According to the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan (MIPT), on the eve of Tashkent, a ceremony of signing the investment agreement “Organization of the production of electric and hybrid vehicles and their components in Uzbekistan” between the MIPT and the Chinese Council of BYD.
“According to the document, the BYD Auto and JSC” Uzavtosanoat “will create a joint venture” BYD Uzbekistan Factory “for the production of electric and hybrid cars in our country. The planned volume of production at the first and second stage of the implementation of the investment project will be 50 thousand units , and with the end of the third stage, the indicator will reach 300 thousand cars, ”the MIPT said in a message
As noted at the signing ceremony, BYD Uzbekistan Factory will be the first joint venture of the Chinese and one of the world drivers of electric vehicles outside the PRC.
