Uzbekistan reported 18 dead during riots in Nukus

As a result of the riots in the Uzbek city of Nukus (the capital of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, a member of Uzbekistan) 18 people were killed on July 1-2, 243 were injured, including 38 law enforcement officials. There are 94 people in hospitals, there are seriously wounded. Such information at a briefing on July 4 was voiced by the National Guard and the Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan.

According to the head of the press service of the National Guard, Davron Zhumanazarov, on July 1-2, 516 people were detained at the site of the demonstrations. In relation to the detainees, an investigation is underway, some of them applied administrative punishment and they are released from custody.

On the night of July 3 to 4, for violating the requirements of commandant hour (from 21:00 to 7:00), 110 people were detained.
