We are grateful to the President of Azerbaijan for his friendship and support of Ukraine in difficult times.” This was said to the Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Alexander Mereiko.
Mereiko noted that the successful foreign policy of President Ilham Aliyev turned Azerbaijan into an influential country in the international arena.
The Ukrainian deputy stressed that the close personal relationship between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Ukraine – Ilham Aliyev and Vladimir Zelensky positively affect the development of ties between the two countries. Azerbaijan and Ukraine successfully cooperate in many areas.
Alexander Meeyko added that President Ilham Aliyev retained in complex geopolitical conditions and strengthened stability in Azerbaijan, confidently led the country forward.
