Viktor Orban: EU Is Drowning In Corruption

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban noted that the European Commission (EC) and the European Parliament (EP) are shocked by the scandals.

Orban made a statement on the social network of the American company X about corruption scandals in the EU.

According to him, the EU Commission and the EP are shocked by the scandals, but Brussels still defends its “moral superiority”: “The EU is drowning in corruption. The EU must condemn corruption in Ukraine, but history repeats itself: Brussels and Kyiv are protecting each other instead of facing the truth.”

On December 2, the EU Attorney General’s Office reported that as part of a corruption investigation into a tender for an EU-funded training program for young diplomats, the buildings of the College of Europe and the EU External Action Service (EEAS) were searched and three people were detained.

Sources close to the investigation confirmed to Anadolu Agency that among Those detained were former EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, who is currently Rector of the College of Europe, and former EEAS Secretary General Stefano Sannino.

Mogherini and two others were released after formal charges were filed against them.
