Vilnius declared an attempt to intervene in internal affairs search for Lithuanian politicians in Russian Federation

The decision of the Russian Federation to put on the wanted list of politicians from Lithuania and other foreign countries is a pressure tool used to try to intervene in the internal affairs of Lithuania.

This was stated in the Department of State Security (DGB) of Lithuania, reports the Baltic network of news agencies Delfi.

In this regard, Lithuania called on citizens to refrain from traveling to Russia or countries close to it.

The report said that the Investigative Committee of Russia “created a special department responsible for the fight against the alleged falsification of historical facts”.

“Many pre-trial investigations have begun against foreign citizens whose activities did not correspond to the provisions of the Russian official version of history,” Lithuania State Security Department believes.

The inclusion of these citizens in the lists of those who are wanted is an instrument of pressure from the Russian authorities used to attempts to intervene in the internal affairs of Lithuania and stop the processes unfavorable for Russian politics, added to the Lithuanian DGB.

On the eve of the search basis for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, information appeared that the head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture Simonas Kairis was put on the wanted list, Russian State Gossmi reported.

In response, the minister said that Russia “is trying to strangle freedom and continues to create its own version, which contradicts the facts and logic.”
