In Istanbul, the second round of negotiations between the delegations of Ukraine and Russia ended.
This is stated in the message of the Turkish Foreign Ministry.
The official representative of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ondigu Kecheli announced the end of the meeting, which began at 14.45 in the Chiragan Palace in Istanbul.
Kechelie spokesman noted: “The meeting did not end negatively.”
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky at a press conference following the results of the Vilnius summit of Bucharest Nine and Nordic countries said that a new exchange of prisoners was being prepared.
“Negotiations in Istanbul have just ended and I am waiting for a complete report from the Minister of Umarov. They exchanged documents through the Turkish side and we are preparing for the new release of prisoners of war,” the president emphasized.

Türkiye, which in May gathered delegations of the Russian Federation and Ukraine at the same table three years later, on June 2 organized negotiations in Istanbul.
The Russian delegation was presented by the assistant to the president Vladimir Medinsky. The Ukrainian side was led by Minister of Defense Rustem Umarov. The meeting was held in a closed format. It is expected that the parties will make statements based on the results of negotiations.
The first round of negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine took place on May 16 in the residence of Dolmabakhche in Istanbul.
According to the results of the first meeting, the parties agreed to conduct a large -scale exchange of prisoners according to the formula “1000 by 1000”, to imagine in detail their views on a possible ceasefire, and then continue negotiations.
Kyiv and Moscow reported that the exchange of prisoners, agreed in Istanbul, was completed on May 25.
