In Azerbaijan in 2020, 16.8 percent of the state budget funds, or 4.425 billion manat, was allocated for defense expenditures and national security. This is stated in the bill “On the fulfillment of the State Budget of Azerbaijan for 2020,” reports Trend.
It is noted that it is 31.6 percent, or 1.64 billion manat, more than in 2019.
According to the bill, defense costs amounted to 1,627,53,480 manat, national security – 240,668,725 manat, to protect the State Government – 278,792,577 manat, on research in the defense and national security – 3,704,889 manat, to another Defense and National Security Activities – 1 604 370 767 Manat.
In addition, from the state budget of 2020 to finance the projects of a special defense appointment, 139 million manat was allocated.
