Votum Of No Confidence Against Chairman Of EU Commission Von Der Lyaine Is Rejected

Chairman of the European Union Commission (EU) Ursula von der Layen retained its post, overcoming the Votum of Dorrotion at the General Assembly of the European Parliament (EP).

At the General Assembly of the EP, votum of the no confidence of von der Layen took a vote.

553 people took part in the vote, of which 175 voted for removal, 360 against and 18 abstained.

Thus, von der Lyaine retained its place, having received the support of 360 deputies.

The main reason for distrust was suspicion of corruption when concluding agreements on the Covid-19 vaccine.

Romanian deputy George Piprea, who made a proposal for a vote of no confidence, in his statement to the correspondent of the Anadolu agency said that the concealment of von der der Lyaina of the maintenance of her telephone messages with the general director (CEO) of Pfizer Albert Burley during negotiations of the Vaccine against the outbreak of Covid-19 causes suspicion of the outbreak of the outbreak corruption.

The Romanian deputy also claims that Brussels intervenes in national elections in some member countries, admits violations in the expenditure of state funds and undermines the democratic process, bypassing the EP when making important decisions.

German politician von der Lyain, who has been the most influential leading post in the EU since 2019, was scheduled for a second term in June 2024.
