The delegation of the Defense Commission of the Great National Assembly of Turkey (VSST), headed by the chairman of the National Defense Commission, Hulushi Akar, was adopted by the speaker of the Milli Majlis Azerbaijan Sahibo Gafarova.
During the meeting, steps that can be taken to improve intersparliamentary relations, international and regional events were discussed.
Gafarova expressed satisfaction with the reception of the delegation of VNST and emphasized that they attach great importance to the support provided by Turkey Azerbaijan during and after the Second Karabakh war.
Gafarova also informed the delegation of VST that the Azerbaijani delegation at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) suspended its participation in the meetings of the organization and all types of cooperation for an indefinite period.
Having emphasized that Turkey and Azerbaijan are strategic allies, Akar noted the importance of further development of bilateral cooperation.
Akar said that the hand of the world extended by Azerbaijan should not remain unanswered from Armenia.
“We hope that soon a peace agreement will be signed between the two countries,” he added.
On Monday, the delegation, led by Akar, met with members of the Committee on Defense, Security and Combating the Corruption of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
During the meeting, it was noted that Turkish-Azerbaijani cooperation is developing in all aspects, and the defense and security spheres are an example.
, as part of a visit to Baku, the delegation of the great National Assembly of Turkey was also adopted by the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov.
