Wheat in exchange for goods: Egypt agrees with India

Egypt discusses with India the supply of wheat in exchange for goods, Bloomberg reports with reference to the Minister of supply and domestic trade Egypt Ali al-Muselhi.

According to al-Muselhi, Cairo expects to reach an agreement with New Delhi on importing 500 thousand tons of Indian wheat in exchange for industrial goods, among which the main attention is paid to mineral fertilizers. The publication notes that the minister met on Wednesday with the ambassador of India to Cairo to discuss the prospects of such an agreement.

In mid -May, India banned wheat export in order to control the growth of internal prices.
