According to the statement posted on the official platform of the Hakomitna government, the unknown people opened fire on the building, as a result of which one of the police officers was wounded and later died.
It is also reported that a group of attackers tried to get inside and arrange arson in the building with a bottle of incendiary mixture. Security forces managed to prevent the incident without allowing further victims.
“The Building of the Prime Minister’s administration is not just an administrative institution. The government also expressed gratitude to the employees of the Ministry of the Interior for professional actions when ensuring the safety of mass demonstration on the Square Maidan Ash Shuhad (Martyrs).
Claces in the capital began on May 12 after the murder of the leader of one of the militarized formations – stability support units.
Soon after this, the 444th brigade, accountable to the Ministry of Defense, took control of the headquarters of this formation and surrounding areas in the Abu-Salim area.
May 13, Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dibaib congratulated the army and police on the restoration of order in the city.
However, on the morning of May 14, battles flashed in the capital again – this time between government forces and the armed formation of the “Rada”. In different areas of the city, puffs of smoke rising above the buildings were seen.
At noon of the same day, the Ministry of Defense announced the introduction of a ceasefire in all areas of Tripoli, covered by clashes, in order to protect the civilian population.
