The American technology company Nvidia will not be able to sell its most advanced artificial intelligence chip, known as “Blackwell”, to China.
White House press secretary Caroline Levitt said this at a briefing, answering a question about whether the sale of Nvidia’s most advanced AI chips to China is the subject of negotiations.
She stressed that US President Donald Trump’s position on this issue is very clear. “Trump has answered this question directly. The most advanced chips – Blackwell chips – are not the product we want to sell to China right now,” Levitt said.
Over the weekend, Trump said that the most advanced chips made by Nvidia will be intended exclusively for American companies and will not be supplied to China and other countries.
