White House: Summit Between US And Russian Presidents Is Not Expected In Near Future

The White House said that a summit between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin is not expected to be held in the near future.

A White House spokesman answered a question from an Anadolu Agency reporter about the Trump-Putin summit, which was scheduled to take place in two weeks in the Hungarian capital Budapest.

“Secretary of State (Marco) Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister (Sergei) Lavrov had a productive conversation. An additional personal meeting between the two ministers will not be required, and there are no plans for a meeting between President Trump and President Putin in the near future,” the White House said.

US President Trump last week said that to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, he may meet with Russian President Putin in Budapest.
