White House: US position on Taiwan has not changed

US President Joe Biden in a telephone conversation confirmed the Chinese of China Xi Jinping that the position of the United States on Taiwan has not changed. This was reported in the statement of the White House.

“Speaking of Taiwan, President Biden emphasized that the US policy has not changed, and the states are decisively against unilateral attempts to change the status quo or undermine peace and stability in the Taiwanese strait,” the document says.

It is also noted that the leaders discussed a number of issues regarding bilateral relations between the United States and the PRC, as well as regional and global issues. The statement does not indicate whether Biden and Xi Jinping were discussed in Ukraine, but earlier the China Foreign Ministry indicated that the Chinese leader reminded the interlocutor of the position of his country on this issue.

The White House notes that the telephone conversation has become part of the efforts of the Biden administration to deepen relations between the two countries.
