White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt commented on the latest US peace plan for Russia and Ukraine: “We believe that this plan is good for both Russia and Ukraine, and should be acceptable to both sides.”
The press secretary at a press briefing commented on the latest plan to resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which was made public.
Leavitt noted that the United States continues negotiations with both Russia and Ukraine, and that Special Representative Steve Witkoff is actively involved in this process.
“I will not discuss the details of this plan because the process is still ongoing and may change, but the President (Donald Trump) supports this plan. This plan is a good plan for both Russia and Ukraine, and we believe that it should be acceptable to both sides,” she noted.
In response to a reminder of some of the Ukrainian side’s objections to the plan Leavitt emphasized that US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll recently met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which was successful.
“I repeat, we are engaged in constructive negotiations with both sides to end this war,” Leavitt said, avoiding a direct answer to the question of whether Qatar is acting as a mediator in this process.
