WHO: incidence of COVID-19 in world grows ninth week in a row

The number of infection with coronavirus is growing in the world, the ninth week in a row, and deaths due to infection – the sixth week in a row. This was announced on Monday at Briefing in Geneva, General Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adan Gebresus, reports TASS.

“Pandemic COVID-19 is becoming more intense in the world. The number of cases of the disease grows the ninth week in a row, and the number of deaths – the sixth week in a row,” he said.

For the last week, almost as many cases of the disease were registered as the first five months of a pandemic, the head of WHO was noted.

As the general director emphasized, “in several regions” noted “a slight decrease in cases of infection and mortality”, however, “in many countries there is still an intensive transfer of COVID-19.” In particular, he noted, the difficult situation was formed in India.
