WHO reminds: Coronavirus vaccines do not protect completely from infection

Coronavirus vaccines do not provide complete protection against infection, so after vaccination it is necessary to continue to follow the precautions. This was stated by the official representative of the World Health Organization Margaret Harris, commenting on the request of the journalists about the fact that the President of Argentina Alberto Fernandez passed a positive test for Coronavirus after vaccination with Russian preparation “Satellite V”.

Harris reminded that “some people, even being vaccinated, can be infected.” “Even if the effectiveness of the vaccine is very high and constitutes, for example, 90%, then there are still 10% of people who have been vaccinated, which may be infected,” she explained, passes the TASS.

According to her, the probability of development of COVID-19 after vaccination is higher, if a person has vaccinated, already infected, or has become infected during the first few days after vaccination. The official representative of WHO in this regard recommended all who made the vaccination from coronavirus, continue to follow precautions, including physical distance.
