Possible candidates were known, which are considered by the post of Secretary General NATO. This is reported by the DPA edition.
The former Prime Minister of Britain Teresa May, as well as the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, became candidates for the post of the Alliance Secretary of the Alliance. The list of possible applicants also included the Prime Minister of Estonia Kai Kallas, the former EU Commissioner for Foremaries Federica Cleverini and President Romania Claus Johannis.
Earlier it was reported that the current NATO Secretary General of Stoltenberg in October 2022 will leave his post and will lead the Central Bank of Norway in December. He takes this post in NATO since March 2014. Initially, Stolterberg should have completed work in 2018, but his term of office was extended until September 30, 2022.
