Woman of Human Rights was first headed by a woman

The new president of the European Court of Human Rights was elected, the press service of the department reports.

It is noted that on Monday, September 19, Irish Siofra O’Liri was elected by the new President of the ECHR. She became the first woman who headed the European Court of Human Rights, and replaced Robert spano at this post.

O’Li will begin to fulfill his duties on November 1, 2022. Previously, she was the vice president of the ECHR.
