Today, another major competition starts at the national gymnastic arena in Baku – the 16th World Sports Aerobics Championship.
The championship of the planet on this gymnastic discipline will be held with us for the first time. Recall, in 2019, the European Sports Aerobics Championship was held in Baku.
This time representatives of 22 countries will perform in the capital of Azerbaijan. 171 athletes and athlete are expected.
In the championship, which will last three days, eight sets of medals will be played. Holders of awards will be determined in the team championship, in personal competitions in women and men, in tournaments of mixed pairs, triples, groups, as well as in the airport and a balloon.
Azerbaijan at the most important competitions will be introduced: individual program – Nurdjan Jabbarla, Vladimir Dolmatov; Mixed couple – Medina Mustafaeva – Vladimir Dolmatov; Group – Vladimir Dolmatov, Imran Imranov, Normama Huseynov, Khoshglady Gulieva, Balakhan Akhmedova; Airport and Elchin Mamedov, Imran Imran, Normama Huseynova, Nurdjan Jabbarla, Medina Mustafaeva, Nigar Ibragibeili, Akif Kerimley, Ayhan Ahmedla. Note that our team in airport is the current European champion.
Competitions will begin at 12:00. Today there will be a qualification in Trook, in women’s individual competitions and a balloon. At 15:25 the championship opening ceremony will begin.
And tomorrow, finalists will be determined in mixed couples, in men, in the airport and in groups. Following the qualifications, winners in the team championship will be revealed. Then start the finals. Three finals will be held on Friday, and four more – on Saturday.
Last week, the informal World Sports Aerobics Championship among children and boys was held in Baku. In the tournament called World Competitions among the age groups Medal for Azerbaijan won young Maryam Topchubashev, which became a bronze medalist in individual competitions in the age category 12-14 years.
