At the Kyrgyz-Turkish University “Manas” in Bishkek, the XII International Symposium on the traditional sports games of the Turkic peoples was held.
speaking at the opening of the symposium, the rector of the University “Manas” prof. Alpasslan Jaylan said that the event was timed to the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic.
According to him, the traditional sports games of the Turkic peoples will be held on October 12-13. The organizer of the Games is the Union of Turkic Universities in organizing the Turkic states (OTG).
The vice -rector of the University of Baktygul Kalambekova, in turn, informed that athletes from 14 countries will take part in the games.
Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences of Manas University Kanat Dzhanuzakov said that the first such games were held in 2014.
The purpose of such an event, according to the deputy deputy, is to familiarize the Turkic world with their original sports.
