Yerevan Court rejected lawsuit of Gasparyan against Pashinyan

The Administrative Court of Armenia rejected the lawsuit of the former head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic, General Colonel Onik Gasparyan against the fourth president of the country Armen Sargsyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Armenia Today reports.

This information was confirmed by the lawyer Gasparyan Shushanik Stepanyan. She noted that she found out about this from the apparatus of the court, but she did not receive the court decision yet.

“This decision was expected for us, given the fact that the Constitutional Court has already expressed its position on some issues presented in our lawsuit,” said the lawyer.

Onyka Gasparyan disputed the legality of his dismissal from the post of chief of the General Staff. The Constitutional Court in November 2021 recognized the corresponding Constitution of part 3 of Article 40 of the Law “On Military Service and the Status of a Military Manner”, which served as the basis for the dismissal of Gasparyan. Onya Gasparyan was fired from the post of head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia after, together with 40 senior military personnel, he signed a statement with a request for the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
