Yerevan: negotiations with Azerbaijan were considered constructive

The first meeting of the national commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the issue of delimitation and security of the borders, which took place on May 24 on the border of the two countries, was held in a constructive manner. According to Armenia Tuday, this was stated by the chairman of the Armenian commission, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mger Grigoryan.

“Indeed, on May 24 we held the first meeting on the border. At this meeting, we discussed exclusively organizational issues of further joint work, and in this regard I consider the meeting quite constructive. Under the date of the next meeting of the commissions on division and security issues there are no agreements yet but there is confirmation that the meeting will take place in Moscow, ”he said.

Grigoryan confirmed that next week a meeting of the tripartite working group on the unlocking of transport and economic ties in the region under joint chairmanship of Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan will be held in Moscow.

“The specific date of this meeting is now in the process of approval, and the agenda of the meeting includes issues related to the implementation of the agreements recorded in paragraph 9 of the tripartite statement by the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan of November 9, 2020 and the application of January 11, 2021. This agenda is this agenda. It has nothing to do with delimitation, ”he added.
