Moscow, in response to the closure of the Russian Consulate General in Gdansk, will reduce Poland’s diplomatic and consular presence in the Russian Federation. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, told TASS.
“As a reciprocal measure, the Russian side will reduce Poland’s diplomatic and consular presence in Russia,” said the Russian diplomat.
Earlier, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski announced the decision to close the last Russian Consulate General currently functioning in the country in Gdansk. In October 2024 and May 2025, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry closed the Russian Consulates General in Poznan and Krakow.
