Zelensky about negotiations with Russia

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky once again said that Ukrainian negotiations with Russia can resume only after the return of all Ukrainian territories within 1991. The Russians must leave the territory of Ukraine within the internationally recognized boundaries – “and then we will say in what format and with whom we are ready to speak.” Zelensky said this in an interview with Canadian television channels CTV and CBC.

“This is fair. To speak, we must rewind until the moment when our states spoke. And this was before the war, until 2014. And from this point you can try to solve the issue diplomatically,” said the Ukrainian leader.

Zelensky added that the pseudo -referendum and an attempt to annexation of the four Ukrainian regions put an end to the possibility of negotiations.

According to Zelensky, from another leadership of the Russian Federation, there should be not an ultimatum, but the dialogue and respect of the sovereignty, the rights of Ukraine and its citizens. “Under such conditions, of course, there will be communication,” he said.

On October 4, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky approved the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on the impossibility of negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The office of the President of Ukraine said that Kyiv would go to negotiations with Moscow only when the president will change there.
