President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky had a telephone conversation with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. The Ukrainian leader announced this on social networks.
According to the message, the parties discussed the current diplomatic situation and Brussels’ work on the decision to use frozen Russian assets in favor of Ukraine.
The politicians also coordinated contacts for the near future.
“I thanked Ursula for her clear position and messages in support of Ukraine during her speech today in the European Parliament. Our view is the same: for now Russia will continue to reject all peace efforts, sanctions against it must increase, and defense and financial assistance to Ukraine must continue,” Zelensky wrote.
