Zelensky Announced “Active Actions In Kursk And Belgorod Regions”

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the Armed Forces are continuing “active hostilities” in the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation. The Ukrainian leader said this during the evening video message.

“We continue active actions in the Kursk and Belgorod regions – this is the protection of Sumy, it is the protection of the Kharkov regions, our active and effective protection,” said, in particular, Zelensky.

According to him, during the battles in the Kursk region, “Russia lost more than 60 thousand military men killed and wounded.”

The President of Ukraine again called for “political and sanctions pressure” on the Russian Federation. In his opinion, this will contribute to the cessation of fire.

In addition, Zelensky spoke about the preparation of the future exchange of prisoners of war with Russia.

“We are preparing an exchange. In fact, reports are daily. We must release all our people, of course. We check the information for each surname. We try to make a maximum possible,” he stated.

According to the Kremlin website, Russian President Vladimir Putin on May 20 made a working trip to the Kursk region. This is the first trip of the head of the Russian state to the region, after the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the return of control over the Kursk region.

During the working trip, the president met with representatives of volunteer organizations. The meeting of the head of state with the temporarily acting governor of the Kursk region Alexander Khinshtein also took place.
