Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky announced the launch of more than 650 drones and over 50 missiles, including ballistics and aeroballistics, across the country on the night of December 6.

“In many regions, restoration work is now continuing after a night of Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure. Unfortunately, there is destruction. The main station building in Fastov burned down from a drone strike,” Zelensky wrote in Telegram channel.

According to him, there were also attacks on enterprises and residential buildings in the Kyiv region. “The Dnieper region, Chernihiv region, Zaporozhye, Odessa region, Lviv region, Volyn, Mykolaiv region were affected. More than 650 drones and 51 missiles, including aeroballistic and ballistic ones. There are wounded in the regions. They are helping everyone,” he noted.

Zelensky said that the main targets of the strikes were again the energy sector, pointing out that the missile launch was carried out “throughout peaceful cities on St. Nicholas Day.”

“That is why additional pressure is needed. Sanctions must work, and our air defense must work in the same way, which means we need to maintain the support of the defenders of life,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported a “massive strike” “on enterprises of the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Ukraine and energy facilities that ensure their operation, as well as the port infrastructure used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Ukrainian Armed Forces).” According to the Russian military department, the strike was carried out by “high-precision, long-range air and ground-based weapons, including Kinzhal aeroballistic hypersonic missiles and long-range unmanned aerial vehicles.”
