Zelensky called for maximum sanctions against Russia

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on the world community to impose maximum sanctions against Russia who attacked Ukraine. Penalty measures should include an embargo for the supply of Russian oil, blocking all Russian banks and a complete cessation of trade with Russia, Zelensky said, acting today on the video at the opening of the World Economic Forum in Davos. According to Zelensky, such sanctions are necessary to force Russia to stop aggression against Ukraine. All foreign companies must leave the Russian Federation so as not to indirectly support Russian military aggression, the Ukrainian president emphasized.

Zelensky also stated that his country was slowed down by Russia, and the courage of the Ukrainian people caused an unprecedented cohesion of the democratic world. The President of Ukraine also said that Kyiv is considering the possibility of using ports in the Baltic to export grain from Ukraine.

The situation in Ukraine will become one of the central topics of the World Economic Forum in Davos, which will last on May 26.
