Zelensky commented on NATO’s position on Ukraine’s accession to Alliance

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky declared that he welcomes NATO’s statement confirming the possible accession of Ukraine to the North Atlantic Alliance.

“Greetings to understanding by partners from NATO countries of all risks and challenges with whom we have … Ukraine deserves due assessment of its role in providing Euro-Atlantic security,” he wrote in Twitter.

During the Summit, NATO leaders supported the right of Ukraine and Georgia to join the Alliance, stating the need for these countries to continue reforms. At the same time, the deadlines of the possible accession of these countries in the organization was not called.

Earlier, Biden said that it is necessary to defeat corruption to join NATO, and the management of the country is to convince members of the Alliance as necessary to accept it. He also stated that Ukraine could join NATO, despite the situation in the Donbas.
