President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky met with American senators Lindsay Graham and Richard Blmental to discuss further support and cooperation, the press service of the head of state reports.
Zelensky thanked the senators for participating in a conference on the restoration of Ukraine and the first meeting of the coalition who wish with the participation of the special representative of the United States Keith Kellog.
The head of state emphasized that the main priority is now the strengthening of the country’s air defense. According to intelligence, Russia “prepares the massive use of drones”, but Ukraine has already developed interceptors for protection and plans to expand their production.
The meeting discussed the continuation of the supply of American weapons and the possibility of joint production of weapons. The President confirmed the country’s readiness to acquire a large defense package from the United States.
Particular attention was paid to the strengthening of sanctions against Russia. Zelensky thanked the senators for the two -party bill, which was already supported by 85 members of the Senate, and expressed confidence that its acceptance will increase pressure on Moscow and push to real negotiations.
The parties also discussed the importance of the unity of the United States and Europe in countering “Russian aggression.” At the end of the meeting, Zelensky congratulated Lindsay Graham on his birthday and handed him a book about the children of Ukraine who survived the war. The senator, in turn, transferred the president to the president of the bill on sanctions against Russia.
