Zelensky For New Meeting With Russia In Istanbul

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Rustem Umarov invited representatives of Russia and Ukraine to hold a new meeting in Turkey.

The president reported this on the social network X.

The Ukrainian leader at a meeting with his country’s ambassadors mentioned the diplomatic steps taken by his country after the war, which began in 2022, and the directives that he gave the ambassadors at the meeting.

Having stated that in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, “effective negotiations will be conducted only at the level of the leaders of the countries,” Zelensky said that the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine and the leader of the Ukrainian delegation, Umarov, invited representatives of the two countries to hold a new meeting in Turkey.

The Head of State noted that on the agenda of Kyiv – the return of prisoners of war, “the return of children abducted by Russia” and preparation for the meeting of leaders.
