Zelensky Intensified International Consultations After Talks In Geneva

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a telephone conversation with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stere, focusing on the current diplomatic situation and efforts to end the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The head of state announced this in his Telegram channel.

Zelensky noted that he thanked the Norwegian prime minister for his continued support for Ukraine and informed him about the first results of consultations in Geneva, where Ukrainian advisers participated in the discussion of peace initiatives. According to the president, the delegation is already returning to Kyiv, and he expects a detailed report on the position of the partners, after which further steps and deadlines will be determined.

The Ukrainian leader stressed that Kyiv will continue close coordination with European states and other allies around the world, striving for results that will provide the country with sustainable security.

Zelensky further developed these statements in his address at the parliamentary summit of the Crimean Platform in Stockholm, where he stressed that Ukraine is at a “critical moment.” “We are working closely with the United States, European partners, many other countries, defining steps to end this war of Russia against Ukraine and bring real security. There is a lot of noise in the media, a lot of political pressure. Putin wants legal recognition of what he stole, to break the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty. This is the biggest problem, you all understand what this means. He wants this not only from Ukraine, he wants this from the whole world. And this is very dangerous,” the head noted state.

He added that Ukraine has coordinated with the United States a number of steps that make it possible to keep extremely important issues on the negotiating table. In particular, we are talking about the complete release of all Ukrainian prisoners according to the “all for all” formula.

“These are important steps, but to achieve real peace, more is needed. We will continue to work with our partners, especially the United States, looking for compromises that will strengthen, and not weaken us. And we will continue to explain how dangerous it is to pretend that aggression can be ignored, as if everything seems to be ‘defeated in itself,'” he added. Zelensky.

In Geneva on November 23, negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and the United States took place on a peace plan proposed by Washington and consisting of 28 points.
