Search and rescue operations continue in Ternopil, the whereabouts of 22 people are unknown. President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky announced this in his Telegram channel.
“Our rescuers worked all night in Ternopil, and search and rescue work continues to this day. The whereabouts of 22 people are unknown, their search continues,” the president wrote.
According to him, more than 230 rescuers from nine regions of Ukraine were involved in the work. In some areas it is possible to work only manually due to severe destruction and fragmentation of structures.
“As of now, 26 deaths are known, and among them three children,” Zelensky noted.
The day before, Ukrainian authorities reported that Russian troops attacked Ternopil using missiles and attack drones. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the strike “claimed the lives of 26 people, including three children. 93 people were injured, including 18 children. 46 people were saved.”
