Zelensky: Pressure Can Force Russian Federation To Become Realist In Negotiation Process

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that pressure could force Russia to become a realist in the negotiation process.

“We are aware that the Russians are trying to show that they are not subjected to any pressure. But it is very important that the world understands: how the pressure has forced Russia to go into the negotiation process, the pressure can force Russia to become a realist in the negotiation process. It is, as a result of pressure, it is possible, and, above all, sanctions on Russian oil and those who are still trading with Russia. Russia must end the war that it has started. It is necessary. Squeeze before that, ”the head of state said in a video message in the evening, on Saturday.

The President of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the partners for new restrictive measures against the Russian Federation and emphasized that it was precisely such steps that “save lives and bring the end of the war.” Zelensky called on the world community not to be silent about what is happening and use the upcoming international summites – southeastern Europe, “groups of seven”, NATO and others – to strengthen diplomatic influence.

President paid special attention to the situation in Kharkov. He said that the city continues to help the victims of the blows. “It was a brutal blow to the city right in the middle of the day, and in fact all these days they beat Kharkov in our city. Last night, a massive drone blow was a massive drone blow, now there were aircraft bombs. Unfortunately, there are dead people per day. My condolences are relatives and friends,” Zelensky said.

According to him, the blows are not a “answer”, but are aimed “at the complete destruction of” life. In the occupied territories, as the president noted, only military facilities and resource export are important to Russia. Everything else turns into ruins – this is what, according to Zelensky, is the “most common Russian product.”

The president also spoke about the successes of the Ukrainian army. Over the past week, he said, the positions of the Russian troops were destroyed, the three Iskander installations, the Su-35 aircraft was shot down, helicopters were damaged and military logistics and airfields were damaged. All this, as he emphasized, strengthens the defense of Ukraine.

Zelensky noted that Ukraine continues to work on strengthening its air defense and is waiting for specific solutions from the United States, including the purchase of the necessary systems. He thanked the European countries for the already transferred weapons and emphasized the importance of the joint production of air defense systems and missiles to them.

“Only time separates from this result, and most importantly, that this time is reduced,” the head of state summarized.
