President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky held a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine reports.
According to the report, Zelensky praised the personal role of Erdogan in the organization of recent prisoners of war and the provision of asylum in Turkey Ukrainian commanders, thanked for supporting territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine
“held a subject conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He thanked for the constant support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, as well as for the fundamental position on the non -recognition of illegal pseudo -referendums that Russia spent in the occupied territories,” Zelensky said.
At the same time, the Turkish president assured that for the liberated Ukrainian military, all the necessary conditions will be created, as well as for relatives who will visit them in Turkey.
During the conversation, the key role of Turkey was noted in the organization of the work of the “grain initiative”, in the framework of which 235 vessels from 5.4 million tons of agricultural products intended for the countries of Asia, Europe and Africa have already left the Ukrainian ports. The parties also expressed hope for further unhindered work of grain corridors.
The Turkish edition of Hurriyet reports that the leaders of Ukraine and Turkey discussed the development of the Russian war against Ukraine. In particular, Erdogan said that Turkey was ready to make any necessary contribution to complete the war through peaceful negotiations.
