President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that so far we have not received a list of prisoners to be exchanged in accordance with an agreement reached in the negotiations in Istanbul.
In his traditional video message, Zelensky presented information about the latest events in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
In his speech, Zelensky touched on the topic of exchange of prisoners and bodies of soldiers in accordance with the agreement reached in negotiations with Russia in Istanbul. He stated that he received information on this issue from the Minister of Defense Rustem Umarov and other officials.
noting that they continue to do everything possible for the exchange of prisoners and bodies of soldiers, Zelensky said: “Unfortunately, Russia still does not have full lists for more than a thousand people (prisoners), which we agreed in Istanbul.”
Zelensky continued his speech with the following words: “I don’t know what to do. We believe that we can continue the exchange process. On our part we do everything for this. If the Russians do not observe agreements even on such humanitarian issues, this will question all international efforts in the field of negotiations and diplomacy, and especially the efforts of the United States.”
The president added that preparations for the Hague Summit of NATO, which will be held in June, and the G7 summit, which will be held in Canada, continues.
“We must strengthen the pressure on Moscow. We must strengthen the sanctions,” summed up Vladimir Zelensky.
