President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky on the 500th day since the beginning of a full-scale conflict with Russia visited the island of Zmein in the Black Sea.
Zelensky called the snake “Victory Place” and honored the memory of the Ukrainian military who died on the island. “I want to thank it from here, from this place of victory, every warrior for these 500 days: our armed forces, our intelligence, our National Guard, our border guards, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Police, our signalmen, our people. I thank everyone who beats For the sake of Ukraine, ”Zelensky said in a video message.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader noted that a small piece of land in the middle of the Black Sea is a great proof that Ukraine will regain every part of its territory.
The island of Zmein in the Black Sea passed under the control of Russia in February 2022, and at the end of June of the same year he returned to the control of Ukrainian troops.
